100+ Women Who Care of Yarmouth County

100+ Women Who Care of Yarmouth County An organization created to make a substantial impact on local charities by combining the strength of women in Yarmouth and surrounding area.

100+ Women Who Care of Yarmouth County was founded to facilitate the strength of the women in our community. Individually we can do great things, but the power of a group of women that are passionate about the community we live in cannot be measured. We are hoping to harness some of that spirit by gathering on a quarterly basis and choosing a worthy charitable organization to benefit from our dona

tions. Each woman who becomes a member is asked to commit to 4 meetings that are each no more than 1 hour in length for one year. They also commit to donating $100 per meeting ($400 per annum) and taking part in the quarterly voting process. This amount, multiplied by the number of members, will add up to a sizeable donation for the charity! Your voice will be of utmost importance. Each member is entitled to nominate their favorite charity each quarter. 3 charities are randomly drawn out of a hat and these charities must make a 5 minute presentation at the quarterly meeting to tell their members about their organization and how the money will be spent. The members then vote on the 3 charities and the winner is rewarded that very night. All members will receive a charitable donation receipt for their full $100 as absolutely none of the money supplied by members is used for administrative purposes. All charities receiving a donation are not eligible for another nomination for a 3 year period - allowing 12 organizations to benefit over the 3 year period. So please, spread the word to all of the passionate and kind-hearted women of this community. We look forward to gathering together to touch the lives of our fellow Yarmouthians.

Hi everyone!

We are looking for your nominations for charities in the Yarmouth area for our next regular meeting on March 3. Please check your email on details of how to submit your vote. Remember if you are part of a group you only get one vote per group. Voting will close the evening of Tuesday, February 17.

For those of you that need a reminder on how this whole thing works or haven't joined us yet: I have added a small explanation below. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone interested in joining our group!

We are a group of Yarmouth individuals who donate $100 each to a Yarmouth based charity 4 times a year. There is a nomination vote that takes place a few weeks before the meeting when members choose local charities and from those, 3 are chosen randomly. It is tradition to keep the charities who have been chosen confidential until the meeting to avoid any pre-planned favoritism and that presentations between the charities is fair. Those charities present to the group at our meeting. Then a vote takes place and the largest amount of votes wins. Every member then donates $100 to the organization directly. Any charity or group that offers a service to Yarmouth county residents has the ability to send out tax receipts is acceptable for nomination. Keep in mind that you can join as a group and contribute together the required $100 (you only get one vote though!).

Your mailing address gets added to a list that gets sent to our winning charity in order for them to send tax receipts to the appropriate place. I should mention that we aren't a charity ourselves and have no bank account of our own. We just help organize and send money to other charities. We would love to have you join us if you haven't already. Please send us a message with any questions!

Thank you everyone!

Hi everyone!

We are looking for your nominations for charities in the Yarmouth area for our next regular meeting on December 2 at 6:30PM at the Gilded Courthouse (there is also an option to attend virtually).

Please check your emails for how to submit your nomination. Voting will close the evening of Monday, November 17.
