Update: thanks for all of the shares. The parents have been made aware. I'll take down the video now and will replace with the picture of the damage. I appreciate everyone's help in checking on the field to make sure everything is as it should be!
⚾ We Need Your Help Protecting the Yarker Ball Diamond ⚾
Unfortunately, we've had another incident of vandalism at the Yarker ball diamond.
Over the last couple of days, we've had teens riding electric scooters on the field, and yesterday I had to ask a group to leave. Today we discovered that someone has driven a dirt bike and a 4-wheeler onto the infield, leaving deep ruts and damaging the playing surface.
The attached video shows the damage being done.
Repairing damage like this takes time, money, and effort that could be spent improving our facilities instead.
We're asking our community for help:
If you know who is responsible, please encourage them to come forward and do the right thing.
If you see motorized vehicles on the ball diamonds, please ask them to leave (if it's safe to do so) or let a member of Yarker Minor Softball know.
Please remind your children and teens that the diamonds are not a place for dirt bikes, ATVs, or electric scooters.
We're proud of what we've built here, and we'd love to keep the fields in great shape for everyone to enjoy. With the community's help, we can prevent this from happening again.
