Last night our Beavers learned all about recycling —what items around the house can be recycled and what needs to go in the garbage. The kids were surprised to learn how long everyday items can take to break down in a landfill… did you know a toothpaste tube can take up to 500 years? 😮
After that, we had some hands-on fun making our own toothpaste using coconut oil and xylitol. The kids got to choose their flavour; peppermint or cinnamon.
They can absolutely use their homemade toothpaste to brush with, but don’t forget to also brush with regular fluoride toothpaste as well. 😉

There where some updates this year in Scouts Canada registration fee has gone up to $270 and they have adjusted some key registration dates.

Returning youth are encouraged to register between Aug 1st and Sept 7th and again after Sept 22 onward.
New youth Sept 15th forward.

Come and join us at Mckay Park in Wyoming for the picnic in the park. Enjoy or purchase some of our muskoka coffee or pick up a hand crafted survival bracelet all proceeds go back to our group to help send our youth on fun adventures.

If you or anyone you kmow enjoy hiking,camping,canoeing/kayaking and teaching youth about the outdoors then we have a place for you. We are looking for Adult Voluteers and youth aged 11 to 14 for our scout troop. If this is something you are interested in then please stop by the Wyoming United Church Wedneday nights between 6:30 and 7:30pm.

We are out today doing our annual Apple day fundraiser from 9am to 3pm at the Tim Horton's and Foodland location. Come and donate to our group today and enjoy a delicious apple from Zekvelds Garden Market.

Good afternoon Wyoming. The 1st Wyoming Scouting group will be out in the community doing our apple day fundraiser this Saturday oct 14th. We will be out at the Wyoming Food Land as well as the Tim Horton's in Recess Corners. Come out and show your support.
