Humboldt Community Soup Kitchen we were happy to help! We've been helped (Saskatchewan Community Foundation and the Forbes Foundation, to name one!) so we're "paying it forward". Part of our philosophy formulated years ago due to our involvement with Heifer International. So many good relationships over the years, and so many being formed right now.

We are so very grateful to Farmland Legacies for their amazing donation of 210 lbs of hamburger through Drake Meats! We will be able to feed our folks for a good while because of this generous donation! We are so excited to be able to stop worrying where the meat will come from for our meals!! Thank you to the Farmland Legacies Charity and their representative Steven Weibe 🙏

What a day on June 12th! Started with picking up wonderful bison meat at Quill Creek Farms (check them out! - a quality organization), proceeded to Melfort, ended up in Prince Albert. Thanks to friends like the Saskatchewan Community Foundation (through the G. Murray & Edna Forbes Foundation) for helping us provide this bison meat to the North East Outreach & Support Services in Melfort and the Prince Albert Safe Shelter for Women. Lentil deliveries to the Melfort Food Bank and P.A Food Bank happened too. This is a result of the outflow of the agricultural legacies left to us over the years - maybe you or someone you know could also leave a legacy of care for land and care for community!

While this picture only shows one step in the chain of hope, the true path is: organic farm by Spalding SK > Farmland Legacies for bagging into individual portions > mini-van > warehouse @ Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre on May 11th > people served and helped. Thank you, Saskatoon Food Bank & all such agencies, for what you do! And our good friends at the Saskatchewan Community Foundation (Forbes Foundation) for helping us make this happen.

In mid-April we took the opportunity to donate ground beef & lentils to Yorkton's Shelwin House and Bruno's Place as well as the Melville & District Foodbank - organizations which work so hard to benefit their communities. Thank you, Saskatchewan Community Foundation (via the Forbes Foundation), for helping us build our province in ways like this.
