The Shining Through Centre for Children with Autism

Shining Through is a non-profit organization that provides ABA/IBI therapy to children and their families affected by autism. That’s when Beecroft was born.

We say yes to children with autism having dreams! We say yes to families having hope for their loved ones with autism! Our Story:

Shining Through was founded in 1999 by 5 families, who recognized a demand for programs and services for children with Autism. Struggling to find the right care and education for their own children and having a goal of creating a centre of world-class quality - the Woo

dbridge campus was established. They began hiring highly specialized professionals to create one-on-one programs using the ABA intervention model, monitor progress, advise families, and champion the progression of all constructive interventions that would facilitate the education, growth, and development of their children. By 2008, the centre was so successful that it reached capacity, and another campus was urgently needed. Both campuses are in beautiful century homes; the story of the Dempsey Store (built by Joseph Sheppard II) is particularly fascinating. The newest addition to STC was a school-based program in partnership with Streetsville Academy where they focus on integration into regular classrooms. As for the 5 founding families - they are all still very much involved and committed to the mission of this centre.

Sunshine, smiles and an incredible show of community support. 💛

Last week’s Carnival and Car Wash brought our Shining Through Centre community together for a day filled with fun, teamwork and meaningful connections.

A heartfelt thank you to our staff, volunteers, families and everyone who stopped by to participate and support the event. We are also incredibly grateful to Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service for joining us and helping make the day even more memorable.

Moments like these remind us that creating brighter futures is something we do together.

📣 Friendly Reminder

Please note that our regular programs will be closed over the next two weeks.

📚 P.D. Week (July 20–24)
Our team will be stepping away from regular programming to participate in professional development, collaboration, and training to ensure we continue delivering the highest quality, evidence-based care for our learners.

🌴 Summer Shutdown (July 27 – August 3)
The Centre will be closed for our annual Summer Shutdown and will reopen on Tuesday, August 4, following the Civic Holiday.

☀️ Summer Camp will continue at our Woodbridge Centre during both weeks.

🎡 We'd also love to see you at our FREE Community Carnival, Car Wash & Yard Sale on Thursday, July 23. Bring your family, invite your neighbours, and join us for a fun day in the community!
