St. Gemma Galgani is an Italian mystic often referred to as “Daughter of Passion,” due to her profound imitation of the Passion of Christ.

She kept a journal that her spiritual director ordered her to write, which documents her mystical experiences, stigmata, and her visions of Jesus and her guardian angel.

Regarding one particular visit from her guardian angel, she writes:

“After I had eaten, I didn’t feel at all well; so he brought me a cup of coffee so good that I was healed instantly, and then he made me rest a little.”
