Planning to coach with Southern Shore Minor Hockey this season? Now is the time to get your certifications in place!

Registration for Hockey NL coaching clinics is now open, giving coaches the opportunity to complete their required certifications before the 2026–2027 season begins.

We’re pleased to share that Coach 1 and Coach 2 clinics will be held at Ken Williams Southern Shore Arena on August 29.

Whether you’re a returning coach or volunteering behind the bench for the first time, we encourage you to register early, as spaces are limited.

As many of you know, the DJHL will be introducing a U18 division this season as part of a two year pilot project.

To give our players the best opportunity for success, SSMHA & GMHA are exploring a merged U18 program for this division. This would involve a tryout process to select the teams.

Some of the potential benefits include:
✅ More competitive hockey for players seeking a higher level of play
✅ Better competitive balance in the MCHL for players who choose not to participate
✅ Provincial teams established earlier in the season, eliminating the need to assemble teams later

📢 We want to hear from our members!

This survey is intended for:
🏒 Players who will be playing U18 this season
🏒 Players entering 2nd year U15
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents/guardians of players born 2009–2012
