Our Story

Ragged Beach Rescue is a project of Friends of Ragged Beach (FORB), a registered not for profit society dedicated to protecting public shoreline land from development. FORB has waged a long 7 year battle to prevent residential developers from receiving the gift of public lands from the Newfoundland and Labrador Government. A new Town Council in Witless Bay has acted with deception and the apparent sympathetic ear of the Provincial Government and has declared open war on Ragged Beach in support of private residential development. Ragged Beach Rescue is an attempt to assemble a financial war chest to continue the battle, and to buy the public land for a public nature park.
