🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Liz! 🌟
Liz has been making a difference in the lives of animals in need for over a decade through fostering, advocacy, and leadership.
Her rescue journey began in 2015, after adopting a dog from the Winnipeg Humane Society. While she and her family weren’t ready to add a second dog permanently, they knew they wanted to help, so they opened their home to foster animals in need.
In 2018, Liz welcomed her first senior “forever foster,” a Rottweiler named Judy, and quickly fell in love with senior dogs. Since then, she has provided love, comfort, and a safe place to land for more than a dozen senior dogs, some staying only a short time and others spending up to five years in her care.
Her passion for helping animals continued to grow. In 2020, after building a shop and creating a dedicated foster cat room, Liz expanded into cat fostering. The program grew even further with the addition of a converted shipping container designed specifically for feline fosters. Since then, she has cared for hundreds of cats, sometimes housing up to 20 cats at once!
In addition to fostering, Liz plays an essential role behind the scenes as Treasurer for K9 Advocacy Manitoba. She manages veterinary invoices and organizational expenses, helps maintain the charity’s status, and works diligently to ensure K9 can continue its lifesaving work for animals across Manitoba and beyond.
Whether she’s opening her home to senior dogs, caring for vulnerable cats, or helping keep the organization running smoothly, Liz’s dedication embodies the spirit of rescue. Her compassion, commitment, and countless hours of volunteer work have changed the lives of so many animals in need.
❤️ Thank you, Liz, for everything you do for K9 Advocacy Manitoba and the animals who depend on us. We are so grateful to have you as part of our rescue family! ❤️
