Before June 6, the Winnipeg Sun wrote: “You are not forgotten, you are not disposable, and you are not limited to the systems or circumstances around you.”

That was our promise.
This is what it looked like when we kept it. 🌱

Twenty young men. Elders who opened the day with prayer and closed it with teachings. A co-creator who held space for emotional regulation and made sure every young man felt safe enough to open up. A community strategist who made sure every detail - from shoes to bus tickets - was thought through with care. A youth leader who, alongside The WarChiefs, brought mentoring, confidence, and teamwork to the court and beyond. Ameil and Abu at the chairs. Volunteers who handled the little things that made everything run smoothly. A videographer/photographer who captured all those candid moments. Sponsors and donors who didn’t just give - they showed up too.

New shoes. Fresh cuts. Full hearts.
