Immigration Partnership Winnipeg

Immigration Partnership Winnipeg IPW works to make Winnipeg a more supportive place for newcomers. Funding and support for the IPWs comes from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

WHAT WE DO:

Local Immigration Partnerships (IPWs) are multi-sectoral collectives that bring a new form of collaboration,
at the community-level, to newcomer settlement and integration. They are designed to establish, facilitate
and implement a community-wide strategy for improving the settlement and integration of immigrants. The IPW model is having success across Canada with more than 40 IPWs in

four Canadian provinces now. The Winnipeg Immigration Partnership (IPW) will help create a community that has
a strong desire and capacity to receive newcomers and make them feel at home. OBJECTIVES OF IPW:

- Maximize the knowledge, skills, experience and expertise of immigrants.
- Mobilize collective resources to plan and coordinate immigration services;
- Build on collective strengths and existing work done by community agencies to date;
- Change the attitudes and approach in our community to newcomer inclusion ; and,
- Build inclusion capacity and sustainability for the future.

June is a time to celebrate the many cultures, histories, and identities that enrich our communities.

This month, we recognize:
🪶 National Indigenous History Month
🏳️‍🌈 Pride Month
🇵🇭 Filipino Heritage Month

These observances invite us to learn, reflect, celebrate, and strengthen our commitment to building welcoming and inclusive communities for everyone. National Indigenous History Month honours the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. Pride Month celebrates the diversity, resilience, and achievements of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Filipino Heritage Month recognizes the rich culture and significant contributions of Filipino Canadians, one of Manitoba's largest and most vibrant communities.

To learn about related events, resources, and ways to get involved, some pages you can check out are:
