Welcome Fair Debrief: Reflecting, Learning, and Looking Ahead π
Yesterday, the Newcomer Welcome Fair Planning Committee gathered at the SPCW boardroom for an afternoon debrief, reflecting on the annual event's 10th anniversary this year. π
The feedback was very positive, along with lots of thoughtful ideas on how we can make next yearβs celebration even better. From strengthening existing features to exploring exciting new additions, there is plenty to look forward to!
One highlight was this yearβs Job Fair, which brought added energy to the event and helped attract more newcomers. For many, it made the Welcome Fair not only a celebration, but also a meaningful opportunity to connect with employers and explore new possibilities. πΌπ€
Cheers to our sponsors, incredible volunteers, participating organizations, and all the guests who attended. You all helped make our 10th anniversary a meaningful and memorable milestone, while helping make Winnipeg a more welcoming city for everyone. π
A special shoutout to our incredible community partners on the Welcome Fair Planning Committee: City of Winnipeg, Ethnocultural Council of Manitoba-Stronger Together, Family Dynamics, IRCOM, Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council - Welcome Place, Manitoba Possible, MANSO, Resilia Community Wellness Centre, the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg, and the Winnipeg Newcomer Sport Academy. Thank you for bringing your time, energy, expertise, and community spirit to the table. Your partnership was instrumental in making this yearβs Welcome Fair possible! π
We celebrate what we accomplished, learn from what we heard, and look forward to building an even stronger Welcome Fair together next year! π
