Celebrating the incredible volunteers at Main Street Project!

Last Saturday, Main Street Project brought its amazing volunteer family together for a special Volunteer Appreciation Brunch - a joyful morning to celebrate the people who give so much of their time, care, and heart to the community.

Volunteer Manitoba was happy to join in the celebration and be there to honour the incredible journey of MSP’s volunteers. It was wonderful to share in the laughter, conversations, delicious treats, and appreciation that filled the room.

As the Volunteer Manager at MSP shared, “We would crumble without them.”

And it’s true - the consistency, kindness, and heart that volunteers bring make such a meaningful difference.

To all the volunteers at Main Street Project, thank you for all that you do. For showing up, for the conversations that fill our cups, and for being such an important part of this community.

The community shines brighter because you are in it. ✨💛

What does the work behind Main Street Project’s programs and services actually look like?

Meet Isabel, a Case Manager with Main Street Project’s Withdrawal Management Services, who has been part of the MSP team for 8 years.
Isabel’s work is rooted in listening, respect, choice, and meeting people where they’re at. She works one-on-one with participants to understand what they want their next steps to look like after detox, explore treatment options, identify their own goals, and create a plan that feels right for them.
She also helps connect participants with the resources they need and advocates alongside them, supporting their choices and helping remove barriers along the way.

When you fundraise, you’re supporting the programs and services that make this work possible and the people who show up every day to do it.

We’d love to see our community come together, get on their bikes, and make a huge impact together. It’s not too late to join! Bike for MSP runs until September 13.

Bike. Fundraise. Make an impact.

Join us and help keep this life-critical work moving. 💙

This is what we are asking our community to be part of. 💙

Every day at Main Street Project, our teams show up - meeting people where they’re at, building connections, offering support and doing their best to make sure people have access to the services they need.

Behind every program and service are people who keep showing up, day after day.

Whether it’s emergency shelter, housing and supportive services, mobile outreach, food and essentials, withdrawal management, harm reduction, or case management and peer support, this work is happening every day 24/7 across our community.

And this is what your support through Bike for MSP helps make possible.

We are working towards our $20,000 goal, and we’d love to get there together. 💙

You don’t have to be a cyclist to be part of Bike for MSP. You can bike, fundraise, donate to a participant, start a team, or simply share the fundraiser with someone who might want to get involved.

Every contribution helps support the frontline, life-critical programs and services at MSP.

It’s not too late to join us. 🚴
Let’s come together, show up for our community, and help us reach $20,000.

Bike. Fundraise. Donate. Share. Be part of it. 💙

BIKE FOR MSP PARTICIPANT STORY SERIES | Meet Melody

Hi, my name is Melody Titus, and I am a Bike for MSP participant!

I first participated in Bike for MSP a couple of years ago. I raised close to $1,500 and biked about 600 km, and I had a lot of fun doing it!

▶️Why do you think it’s important to participate in Bike for MSP?
It’s an easy and fun way to raise awareness and show support.

▶️What do you like about Bike for MSP?
It motivates me to bike farther than I usually do (so I can beat Jamil… hehe, just kidding!)
But more than that, it makes me feel like I am part of something bigger that is helping people experiencing homelessness.
Biking is something I can do to support not only community members, but also the organization and everyone working there.

▶️Why do you think it’s important to support Main Street Project?
MSP works very hard to meet people where they’re at and continues to evolve as homelessness and the drug epidemic grow and change. It’s a situation that needs continued community support to keep up with the demands of what’s happening every day.
MSP also relies heavily on funding to keep running, so there are lots of reasons to support them!

▶️What do you think people should know about MSP that they might not already know?
MSP provides so many services and resources that a lot of people don’t even know about. If you’re able to, I would suggest people take a tour sometime.
There are close to 400 people working at MSP. You wouldn’t know that unless someone told you. It’s got more than meets the eye, lots of helpers behind the scenes. 💙

🚴 Ready to be part of something bigger?
Join Bike for MSP and help us reach our $20,000 fundraising goal!
Every kilometer, every fundraiser and every bit of community support helps. Funds raised through Bike for MSP will directly support the frontline, life-critical programs and services at Main Street Project.
It’s not too late to join us. Get on your bike, have some fun, and help make an impact in our community. 💙
