Manitoba Blind Sports Manitoba Blind Sports Association provides sport and recreation opportunities to the blind and visually impaired community in Manitoba.

We offer year-round sport programs for athletes of all abilities and skill levels, and welcome new members!

Archery – 10 Wednesday nights from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at Heights Archery (2281 Portage Avenue).

Participants ages 10 and up. Some equipment will be provided but space is limited so register early. Classes start on Wednesday, October 1st and run until December 10th (no class on October 15th). We'll be running a second session starting in January.

The annual Grey Cup will be held in Winnipeg on Sunday, November 16th.

We are selling $2 and $5 raffle tickets but have very few $2.00 left in the office.

Tickets come in bundles of 25 or can be purchased individually. If you're interested in selling or purchasing some of these tickets, please contact the office as soon as possible as we may need to order more tickets!

Curling – Saturday Mixed League starts up again on Saturday, October 18th.

We will be holding a couple open house events for anyone interested in trying it out (at no cost). These dates will be held prior to October 18th. Contact the office if you're interested. The Saturday afternoon drop in program (12-1:30) is also available to all curling members starting October 4th.

If you’re interested in trying out our curling program but aren’t sure if its for you, please contact the office for more information. Some equipment will be provided.

Yoga - by Zoom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 – 11:00 am beginning October 7th.

Yoga is a great way to increase your balance and core strength, flexibility, physical and emotional well being and may be done seated in a chair or on a yoga mat. Classes are open to both women and men. Contact Cathy at the MBSA office by email at [email protected] or phone at 204-925-5694 to receive the Zoom link. (Note: Ruth is teaching both classes). We may also run a Stretch and Strength class one night per week if there's interest.

The Manitoba Blind Sports Association will be starting our fall programs in October. All individuals with vision loss are welcome to attend!

All participants must be current members of the MBSA to participate. Membership fees are the same as last year and are now more reflective of the costs of our programs.

We now have a two tier system for our program fees.

All tier 1 sports programs (Golf, Curling, Yoga & Swimming) will now cost $150/program.

Tier 2 sports programs (Archery, Dragon Boat & Cross Country Skiing) will cost $50 each program.

All families must also pay a refundable $150 Fundraising Fee (this fee will be waived for first time members or those who have already completed their 15 hour fundraising commitment).

Fees can be paid by cheque, cash or e-transfer and may be paid in instalments if necessary. If you’re interested in participating, please contact Cathy at the MBSA office by email at [email protected] or phone at 204-925-5694 for more information.

Thursday, August 14TH, 2025. And this morning Darcy Furber, one of our Blind Golfers was on CTV Morning Live with Rachel Legase talking about his involvement and participation in Blind Golf. Congratulation Darcy on winning in the number of tournaments which you participate in. You are an inspiration to those who participate and be the best that you can be.
