Joseph, Donna and Melody stopped by to bring me these beautiful flowers and balloon to thank us for everything. My eyes fill with water when I look at them because we haven’t done anything yet! This is just the beginning! Prayers 🙏 for justice and years lost and 🥂 to the many years to come for them as a united family! Thank you so much Joseph, Donna and Melody 🙏❤️🦅

Hello, attention all sixties scoop survivors with ties to Manitoba, 60s Scoop Manitoba Region Inc. Will be assembling a confidential list of individuals from Manitoba who may be interested in pursuing discussions and a potential agreement with the province of Manitoba regarding harm experienced as a result of the sixties scoop. Our intention is to understand interest, document experiences, and explore pathways forward with the province in a thoughtful and survivor-led way. While the 2018 federal settlement acknowledged culture loss and provided a $25,000 payment, many survivors continue to live with unaddressed harms connected to provincial systems. These include, but are not limited to, experiences of physical, emotional, psychological, and forms of abuse, as well as long-term impacts related to placements and adoptions facilitated through the province of Manitoba. For many survivors, these harms were never examined, acknowledged. Or addressed. This initiative recognizes that our experiences extended far beyond cultural loss, and that there are outstanding issues that deserve serious consideration. At this stage, we are seeking to understand who may be interested in being part of a collective, survivor-led process. Who is open to engaging in discussions with the province of Manitoba. Who would like their experiences to be recognized and counter as part of this work. There is no obligation, and adding your name does not commit you to any specific next step. This process is about gauging interest, building understanding and determining future directions together guided by survivors and grounded in respect. If you were adopted or placed though Manitoba system during the sixties scoop and feel this speaks to your experience, we invite you to reach out for more information. Email us at: [email protected].
