Deaf Resource Centre The Deaf Resource Centre (DRC) is an information clearinghouse operated by Deaf Centre Manitoba Inc.

The DRC’s Slogan is an “One-Stop Shop, it’s a Clearinghouse and a Web of Connections.” It’s in an excellent position of resources and services to serve Deaf community and non-Deaf service providers across Manitoba, Canada. DRC responds to inquiries about a diverse range of topics related to Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing persons including culture, education, health, and family. The Deaf Res

ource Centre houses a library (DRC library) enabling Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard of Hearing and other Manitobans to access important and accurate information pertaining to deafness, Deaf Culture, and healthy communication. DRC is also posting news through social media (Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube). DRC has partnered with other service agencies to provide appropriate services and to enhance the accessibility of services to the Deaf Community.

Introducing DECIPHER — the RCMP’s new Virtual Remote Interpreting pilot project.

DECIPHER allows front line officers to instantly connect with ASL and LSQ interpreters, helping reduce communication barriers for Deaf and hard of hearing community members.

This six-month pilot is strengthening safety, clarity, and accessibility in real time.

We are excited to see you all for our upcoming Annual General Meetings! Below is everything you need to know about the location, lunch options, and full schedule.

📍 Location Details
Venue: CMU (Canadian Mennonite University) – Lecture Hall

Address: 600 Shaftesbury Blvd (by the Old MSD area)

Parking: Look for the designated parking lot marked with a red circle on our green map, then walk over to the Lecture Hall ( #20).

🍔 Lunch Options (12:00 PM – 12:30 PM)
-Bring your own lunch and stay on-site during the break
-Grab food nearby at McDonald's or Tim Hortons in Charleswood Mall.
-Visit the on-campus CMU Café (Jolio) down the hall.

UPDATE: 3-Year Proposal Has Been Submitted
Deaf Accessibility Strategies (DAS) thanks the Deaf Barrier-Free Housing Coalition and partnering organizations for participating in and supporting our proposal for 3-year research to identify barriers in housing for Deaf people, and to develop evidence-based functional requirement on different aspects of housing accessibility for Deaf people to be considered and incorporated in accessibility guidelines, standards and Codes.
