Winnipeg's Esprit de Choeur Women's Choir is a vibrant musical ensemble conducted by
Valdine Anderson and accompanied by Rachel Dyck. Esprit was founded in 2011 and is dedicated to exploring and performing choral works written for women's voices in contemporary and classical music genres. By invitation of the President of Iceland, we were honoured to tour Iceland in 2018, the Fire and Ice Tour, p

erforming in multiple locations. The music selected to perform included a commissioned work by Dr. David Scott with Icelandic poet Magnús Sigurðssona, several Canadian compositions and folk songs along with Icelandic folk songs. Esprit de Choeur was distinguished as a national finalist in the Associatied Festivals of Music and Arts in Canada in 2013, and in 2014 won an invitation to perform at Tapestry International Festival of Women's Choirs, hosted by Elektra Women's Choir in Vancouver, Canada in April 2015 along with choirs from the USA and Norway.

We are deeply saddened by the recent loss of Tannis Richardson. A dedicated volunteer, she has been a steadfast champion of our organization including being Honorary Chair of the Strategic Advisory Council of Esprit Singers since 2018 up to the present, remaining actively engaged. Her generosity of spirit and clarity of vision helped shape our organization that is committed to music artistry and excellence.

Her legacy lives on in the many shared experiences she made possible including the encouragement and support to tour Iceland, which held special personal meaning to her and remains a cherished part of our collective history.

Tannis was a remarkable philanthropist, an inspiring community leader, and a passionate advocate for the arts. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on our organization and the broader cultural community. We are immeasurably grateful for her unwavering support. Her commitment to art, culture, and community will continue to resonate for years to come.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to be touched by her extraordinary life.
