Let us tell you about Liam Lager.

Last year, Liam was rescued from northern Manitoba after living with an embedded puppy collar around his neck for more than a year as he grew. By the time we found him, he was extremely shut down, badly infected, and terrified of people. No one could get close enough to help him.

With the support of local animal control and community members, we were finally able to safely trap him and get him the care he desperately needed. We drove through the night to meet our friends at The Pas and Area Animal Shelter, and then spent months helping him heal, both physically and emotionally.

Today, Liam is living his best life with his family in southern Ontario. And now? He has his very own beer! How funny is that? šŸ˜‚

We could not be happier for this amazing boy. Stories like Liamā€™s remind us why we keep going, even on the hardest days.

This little sweetie is Coop and he came down from northern Manitoba and hung out at our shelter in Winnipeg until he was ready to fly to our friends at in Ottawa!

Heā€™s a spicy little burrito and we enjoyed having him! We think heā€™s got a little Doberman in him, so we hope his forever family does a DNA test!!

Tucker wanted to thank Speaking of Dogs for helping him with his vet bill.

After being hit by a water truck in northern Manitoba, he took a helicopter and plane to reach Winnipeg where Pembina vet removed 4.1L of fluid off his neck.

Everyone meet Bev!

Another rez dog jumped into my heart. Shocking right? šŸ˜‚

You might remember a couple weeks ago I posted about stray dog that had a Beaver snare around her neck! She took an 8 hour train ride from Pukatawagan to The Pas and then she stayed with The Pas Shelter until we got a ride for her to Winnipeg which was 6 hours!

Sheā€™s quite shy right now but I know she just needs a little bit of vetting and a whole lotta love.

A week ago, these pups arrived from St. Theresa Point full of worms, shy, and not feeling their best.

Look at them now!!! Happy, healthy, and ready for their second chance. We are so grateful to the team at Harperā€™s Store for reaching out and helping these puppies get the future they deserve.
