June 21st is our first Manitoba Cup for 2026 and it’s right around the corner! Come join us in racing, watching the races or to volunteer!

Location: Selkirk Canoe & Kayak Club, Selkirk, Manitoba
Arrive by: 8am
Races May include: 1000m, 500m and 200m
When: Sunday June 21st

Like always bring a dish for the post race potluck! 🍎🍇🥕🧀🍕🥟🧁🧃

Saturday, June 20th is the Annual Manitoba Highland Gathering in Selkirk! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It’s a fun family festival celebrating Manitoba’s Scottish heritage. Enjoy traditional food, listen to the bagpipes, watch sword fighting demonstrations, and take in all the Highland spirit!

As usual, there will also be a paddling race on Cook’s Creek:

PADDLE NIGHTS ARE COMING BACK!

Starting June 17th, you can join us Wednesdays all summer and paddle in a canoe, kayak or dragon boat!

Adults are only $8, or family for $15 which includes the boat, paddle and a life jacket.

🚣‍♀️🌊 Get ready to hit the water at Morden’s Annual Paddlefest! Join us for a fun-filled day of paddling at beautiful Lake Minnewasta!

When? Saturday, June 13th 2026
Time? 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Cost? Free Event (Lake gate fees apply)
Where? Lake Minnewasta in Morden

Try out a canoe, kayak, SUP, pedal boat, or even dragon boats!
Perfect for families, friends, and water lovers of all experience levels.

Register by June 12th! Walk-up spots may be available the day of (space permitting).

Come rent a canoe or kayak this summer! This is a great way to spend an evening 🙂☀️

Our Drop-ins run June 29th until the end of summer. You can register on site when you arrive.

Boats, paddles and life jackets are provided. We recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes.

Come anytime: Monday-Friday 5pm-9pm

$5 child , $10 adult and $15 family.

We accept credit, debit and cash payments.

2026 Cooks Creek Canoe Classic, also known as the “Day Before Mother’s Day Race”! 🛶

First race of the season! A little chilly, a little windy, but everyone showed up ready to race and have a great time. Great way to kick off the paddling season!

Safe Boating Awareness Week is a reminder for everyone to stay safe on the water this season. Whether you’re boating, kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding, a few simple precautions can save lives. 🌊🚤

The campaign focuses on key boating safety tips like wearing a lifejacket, avoiding alcohol while boating, being prepared before heading out, and understanding cold water risks. Safety starts before you leave the dock.

Let’s make this boating season safe, fun, and enjoyable for everyone. Stay prepared, stay aware, and always boat responsibly.

REGISTER NOW FOR 2026 PADDLING SPORTS CAMPS! Early Bird deadline is May 1st!

🌊Kids experience a week full of paddling, fun, and learning! Our summer camp is for youth ages 8 to 14. They get to learn the basics of dragon boat, canoe, kayak and even stand up paddle board! This is a great way to explore our waterways right in the city and go on special outings. 🚣‍♀️

🌟 Summer Camps:
- Week 1: July 6-10 (Available in French & English)
- Week 2: July 13-17
- Week 3: July 20-24
- Week 4: July 27-31
- Week 5: August 10-14 (Available in French & English)

Our Manitoba Schools and River City Dragon Boat Festivals are right around the corner!

Join us for a weekend packed with tons of racing, team building and excitement!
