The Pre-Arrival Centre (PAC) is a new service offered by the Immigrant Centre Manitoba Inc. that aims to assist pre-arrived immigrants and refugees destined for Manitoba, before they leave their country of origin. PAC provides settlement and employment information, resources and referrals that are specific to the Province of Manitoba and the community that the Newcomer plans to move to. The PAC te
am strives to ensure that immigrants and refugees coming to Manitoba have a realistic idea of what they will encounter and how they can properly prepare for their future lives in Canada. In order to connect with immigrants and refugees before they arrive in Manitoba PAC services are offered virtually through our website (www.ic-pac.com), in both French and English. The website has pre-arrival information and resources that are accessible to all, while immigrants and refugees can register on our website for further PAC services. Eligible clients for PAC services are those who have applied to IRCC to immigrate to Manitoba and have received initial approval by IRCC (we require a IRCC unique client identifier number). Once a client is registered with PAC they will be delegated a Facilitator that will preform a needs assessment with the client, assist the client in developing a settlement plan, and ensure that the client gets realistic information that best assists them with their particular situation through continuous communication until they arrive in Manitoba. PAC Facilitators will provide information about Manitoba agencies serving immigrants and refugees, and services and resources that clients can utilize before, and when, they arrive in Manitoba. PAC is partnered with many immigrant serving agencies in Manitoba and are able to make direct referrals through some of these partnerships. PAC offers several means of communication to best fit the clients needs, such as: face to face and verbal communication through Skype, instant messaging through our website, and written communication through emails. Clients will also have access to their personalized settlement plans, employment and settlement resources in the PAC learning library, Newsletters, webinars and discussion forums all through our website.
