Candace House Working to help meet the needs of families affected by homicide and other violent crime in Manitoba.

Candace House is a non-profit, non-adversarial, non-partisan charity serving those affected by serious crime in Manitoba by providing a safe and comforting refuge within walking distance of the provincial law courts. We aim to be a focal point for victim services, providing practical assistance and access to holistic and culturally appropriate resources and education. Through collaborative partnerships with other services and programs, our purpose is to increase access to support and information for basic victim recovery needs throughout their interaction with the justice system and beyond.

Amazing update on our summer matching campaign!

By the end of August, we raised $9,080 total! With this, we can cover an entire month of nourishing food and snacks to fuel a family, plus full court accompaniment and emotional support. And very excitingly, we gained new monthly donors!

But it gets better: A few generous donors have stepped up to top off the remainder of our $20,000 goal, and even added an additional $14,000!

Plus the Scott Garland Foundation's initial pledge of $20,000, that makes our grand total $54,080!

We are absolutely thrilled by this success - we couldn't have done it without you and our broader community of Candace House supporters. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our social media posts, and who keep sharing the impact of Candace House. With you, families can feel a little less alone navigating a world of grief 💙

Founded in honour of their son Scott, a promising young lawyer who passed at the age of 27, The Scott Garland Foundation funds charities that support the rights of vulnerable human beings and animals. Thinking back to our 1st ever golf tournament this past July at St. Boniface Golf Club! We had so much fun, got a few birdies (and a few mulligans), and raised nearly $20,000!

Your support means that more and more families get the support, care, and compassion they need while navigating the worst moments of their lives.
