Candace House Working to help meet the needs of families affected by homicide and other violent crime in Manitoba.

Candace House is a non-profit, non-adversarial, non-partisan charity serving those affected by serious crime in Manitoba by providing a safe and comforting refuge within walking distance of the provincial law courts. We aim to be a focal point for victim services, providing practical assistance and access to holistic and culturally appropriate resources and education. Through collaborative partner

ships with other services and programs, our purpose is to increase access to support and information for basic victim recovery needs throughout their interaction with the justice system and beyond.

Today we were happy to receive $2000 in Co-Op gift cards from Red River Co-op's Community Support Fund! Amber met with Amol and Rose from the Southdale Co-Op and had a wonderful opportunity to share the vision of Candace House and how much their support means to us.

This significant donation to our meal program will allow us to provide nutritious meals, snacks, coffee, and tea to hundreds of families who come through our space! We are so grateful for Red River Co-op's commitment to community investment, and to partnering with our mission to provide wrap-around care for family survivors of homicide.

What would you do if you could *double your impact* with a single gift?

Through the generosity of the Scott Garland Foundation, every donation will be matched! Your gift today will go that much further in supporting twice the number of families impacted by violent crime - meaning *double* the nutritious meals, *double* the court support, and *double* the care and compassion that Candace House provides.

We have raised $8,210 so far - just shy of halfway to our goal of $20,000!
This matching opportunity ends August 31, just two more weeks!

We welcome you to be part of this journey at candacehouse.ca/donate - whether it's $10 or $100, every gift will go that much further to provide crucial support for our Candace House families.

Candace House was featured in the latest issue of the Winnipeg Foundation's biannual magazine "Working Together."

After losing Candace, Wilma and Cliff Derksen chose to honour her life by creating care and connection for others. Years later, the vision of Candace House was created - offering families affected by homicide a welcoming refuge near the law courts, with space for privacy, nourishment and support during an incredibly difficult time.
