TRANSCONA OPTIMIST CLUB
Hi Neighbour 10-4 Saturday and Sunday
June 13 starting at 10:30 am Bike Safety Rodeo 2026
We’re super excited to have a booth at the Hi Neighbour Festival again this year, and we’ve got a fun twist! We’re hosting our “Colouring Contest” at the festival. Kids can either colour a picture we’ve picked or bring their own (just make sure to include the child’s name, age and parent’s phone number on the pre-drawn entry). The contest is open to children aged 0-10. We’ll have crayons, colouring pencils and markers ready for the colouring table.
We’ll pick the winners and get in touch with the parents. The winners can pick up their prizes at Flamingo Studio, located at 113 Regent Ave W. Please ask for Kerry.
Another exciting event is our annual Bike Safety Rodeo, which we’re doing with MPI! It’s happening on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at the East End Community Club, located at 517 Pandora Ave. East (the northeast corner in the parking lot). The event starts 10:30 a.m. Remember, a bike and helmet are required. It’s free, and we’ll have a hotdog cart cooking hotdogs for everyone. Parents, we suggest bringing a lawn chair to watch the event. It’s a blast and a great way for the kids to learn about bike safety.
Transcona Optimist will also be at our hotdog cart at other community events throughout the summer, supporting Transcona Community activities. We’re looking forward to seeing you at one of these events!
Our hotdog cart and volunteers are available for your events! There’s a small fee for this service, which helps us fund our other community events, like the Santa Sleigh ride every year, Soccer Jamborees, hot dogs for youths participating in Remembrance Day Service and many other events.
If you have any questions, interested in volunteering or want to make a difference in "bringing out the best in youth", become an Optimist member, please call us anytime at 204 202 3533. If you’re interested in participating or joining Transcona Optimist, we meet once a month on the second Wednesday of each month.
