🎉 **What an Incredible Milestone – Celebrating 100 Years of The Royal Canadian Legion at Prince Edward Legion Branch 81!** 🇨🇦🌺
On July 17& 18th, our Branch proudly celebrated the **100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion, and what an unforgettable celebration it was!
On Friday, , we began our centennial weekend with a heartfelt ceremony led by our dedicated Colour Party, honouring the generations of veterans, members, and volunteers who have built our Legion and Branch over the past century. The evening continued with our $1 hot dog celebration, live entertainment, and the excitement of congratulating the lucky winners of our 100th Birthday Bash Draw.
On Saturday, the celebrations continued with a delicious pancake breakfast, barbecue, summer meat draws, and fantastic live band entertainment, bringing together members, friends, families, and our community to celebrate this historic occasion.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this milestone so special. A very special thank you goes to our incredible **100th Anniversary Committee**, whose months of planning, dedication, and hard work brought this celebration to life.
We also want to recognize our amazing volunteers, whose countless hours made the weekend run so smoothly. A special shout-out goes to our five young upcoming members, who enthusiastically stepped up to decorate, cook, sell tickets, sell Legion/Branch merchandise, and help with cleanup. Your willingness to serve and be involved reminds us that the future of our Legion is bright.
This celebration was more than just marking 100 years—it was a celebration of service, remembrance, comradeship, and community. Every person who attended, volunteered, donated, or supported this event helped honour our past while strengthening our future.
Together, we continue our mission of supporting our veterans, their families, and our community, and will continue to celebrate throughout the year with special events, and we look forward with pride and optimism to the next 100 years of service.
Thank you for making our centennial celebration one that will be remembered for years to come.
**Lest We Forget.** 🌺🇨🇦
