To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the GCC brought together leaders of our community at a festive dinner at Bailey's restaurant on April 9. Business owners, academics, politicians, teachers, and the GCC's friends and current/ former board members mingled to strengthen existing relationships and to develop new connections. Special guest of the evening, German Consul General, Ms. Anne Wagner-Mitchell, briefly spoke about the history of German-Canadian diplomatic relations, celebrating 75 years of bilateral collaboration. We are grateful to our sponsors: for the General Consulate in Toronto for the delicious black forest cake dessert (made by Di Nardi) and to the Ernst Hansch Foundation for sponsoring the honorarium for a violinist (Clair Tang) who accompanied the evening with festive sounds.

Spring Meetup / Frühlingstreffen
Tuesday April 28th at 6.30pm
Join us in the office of the German-Canadian Congress, 58-81 Garry Street

For this month's meetup we will have a little Spring celebration. Appropriate for the season, we will prepare Hessian "green sauce" with potatoes. All ingredients will be provided by the German-Canadian Congress.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to join us for some crafting. We will demonstrate how to make paper flowers, in particular cornflowers, the national flower of Germany. All materials will be provided at no cost.

We are looking forward to a fun evening, as usual with casual conversations in German and English.
