Doing what needs to be done to keep the site thriving 🌳✨

Like most of the city’s canopy, the elm trees at The Forks are at risk of Dutch elm disease and we’re taking preventative measures to help protect them. Proactive maintenance, including tree inoculation, is one of the best ways to protect these trees. These efforts help keep our trees healthy and are an investment in the long-term health of the site.

WALKING🚶‍♀️
One of the best ways to experience Nuit Blanche is on foot. Wander between installations and stumble upon unexpected art.

BIKING 🚲
Cycle your way to The Forks! Help keep yourself visible and others safe by using bike lights and reflectors.

BUSSING🚌
Take advantage of the free Nuit Blanche shuttle busses running between activations throughout the evening. The shuttle will drop you off at the intersection of York Avenue and Israel Asper Way, just a short walk from The Forks.

BOATING⛴️
Arrive by water! will be offering free waterbus service from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., with stops at The Forks, St. Boniface (Cathedral), Stephen Juba, and Hugo Docks.

From walking tours to crafts to museum exhibits, there are many opportunities throughout the day to take part and deepen your understanding of the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.

Let's sort some trash 😝🤘

Helga is taking us behind the scenes of The Forks' annual waste audit, an important process that helps us understand what ends actually end up in the garbage compactor and allows us to identify opportunities to divert even more waste from landfill.

This year, The Forks saw a 10% increase in waste diversion compared to last year. Of all the waste generated on site, only 27% ended up in the landfill. The remaining 73% was recycled or composted.
