This week, JRK MILLEN Navy League Cadet Corps had the honour of hosting members of Forces of Lord Selkirk. They provided the Guard for Colours and Sunset, shared the rich history of their regiment, and spent time teaching a group of our senior cadets elements of the manual of arms using wooden muskets.

Moments like this are at the heart of the Navy League Cadet Program — building citizenship, understanding our shared history, and learning through hands-on experience.

To close the evening, the Executive Officer, on behalf of the Commanding Officer, proudly presented the group with Challenge Coins. These tokens carry deep meaning in military tradition, symbolizing camaraderie, dedication, and exceptional service. A powerful reminder of the respect and pride we share within our community.

This week, several of our senior cadets were awarded the Navy League Cadet Service Medal - recognition given to cadets who have completed two full years of dedicated training.
The medal’s ribbon carries deep meaning:
Maroon for commitment to service and duty;
Navy Blue for dedication, loyalty, and the colours of the Navy League of Canada;
Royal Violet for youth, inclusion, and unity;
Golden Yellow for service to community.
Bravo Zulu to our medal recipients — your perseverance, loyalty, and commitment to growth continue to make JRK MILLEN proud.

On Friday, December 5, the Commanding Officer proudly promoted two of JRK MILLEN Navy League’s Ordinary Cadets to the rank of Able Cadet.

Last weekend JRK Millen cadets participated in the Sailing day! Kids enjoyed various activities such as fishing 🎣, sailing and many more!

They did many fun activities including kayaking, wall climbing and zipline!
