"Pimatiswin" means "a good life". "Kinamatwin" means "to walk in a good way". Loosely translated into English, Ogijiita Pimatiswin Kinamatwin means "Warriors Leading a Good Life". The vision of Ogijiita Pimatiswin Kinamatwin is to create a society in which Aboriginal youth can participate fully. The mission of Ogijiita Pimatiswin Kinamatwin is to provide opportunities for social, emotional and spi
ritual growth and healing to Indigenous youth at risk of becoming, or who currently are, in conflict with the law. These opportunities for healing and growth will facilitate the ability of the youth to fully participate within and make a meaningful contribution to their chosen community. We currently provide holistic and culturally based supports for participants who are working to make change in their lives. Many of whose have been inter-generationally impacted by the legacy of the Indian Residential School System. Ogijiita Pimatiswin Kinamatwin operates as a family, providing participants with support during crisis and with celebration and recognition of their successes. As appropriate, we assist our participants with their basic needs, with life skills, with pro-social community development and cultural opportunities, ceremony, and advocacy related to further education and training opportunities.
