Important time for labour unions to lean in and organize communities in people’s best interest instead of their own.

Labour Day is more than just a long weekend — it's a celebration of the hard-fought victories of workers and unions across the country.

It’s brought to you by the labour movement — the same people who fought for and won:
The 5-day work week
Maternity leave
The right to refuse unsafe work
Same-sex marriage rights

And so many other protections we now take for granted

Many of these hard-won benefits have since been absorbed into law, but they were never given freely — they were won through solidarity, struggle, and the unwavering efforts of union members.

This Labour Day, we honour that history and the ongoing work of our members. We celebrate your contributions and your commitment to fairness, safety, and dignity in the workplace.
