What an incredible evening! Judging by the selfie, we're not the only ones who thought so! 😜

Yesterday, the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg celebrated this year’s honourees, individuals whose dedication and leadership help make our community stronger every day!

Mazal tov to all of the award recipients, and thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Kavod Evening.

What a great way to close the week and begin Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom! ✡

Visible, proud, and safe Jewish life does not happen by chance. It is built together through action.

Every gift to Magen Echad helps strengthen our community through enhanced security across Jewish institutions, volunteer training and preparedness programs, safety education and emergency response planning.

Today every donation is tripled, helping us do even more to protect Jewish life in Winnipeg.

This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the AMIA bombing, a terrorist attack that targeted the headquarters of the Argentine Jewish Mutual Association (AMIA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The attack claimed 85 lives, wounded more than 300 people, and reduced the area surrounding the building, the heart of Jewish life in Argentina, to rubble. More than three decades later, the perpetrators behind this horrific act have still not been brought to justice.

Please join us on Monday, July 20, for a commemorative event in memory of the victims, presented in partnership with B'nai Brith Canada and the Argentinean Manitoban Association.

The program will also feature a special keynote presentation by Professor Dr. Aurel Braun, Judging the Iranian Regime Threat in the Trumpian Era, examining the evolving challenges posed by the Iranian regime and their implications for global security.

Final week to support Magen Echad!

Keeping Jewish Winnipeg safe is not only about today but about building security that lasts for years to come. This initiative strengthens the training, people, and resources that protect our schools, synagogues, events and everyday community life.

If you have been meaning to give, now is your chance to be part of it.

For almost 100 years, the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) has been at the heart of the Jewish story, helping build, strengthen, and connect Jewish communities around the world.

What began before the State of Israel as a vision for a homeland has evolved into a global mission supporting Aliyah, strengthening Jewish identity, building leadership, and responding in moments of crisis.

Since October 7, JAFI has been on the front lines of emergency support, helping displaced families, strengthening resilience programs, and continuing to connect Jews across the world during an incredibly difficult time.

We are proud that a portion of every gift to the Combined Jewish Appeal supports this important work through our partnership with Jewish Federations of Canada–UIA.

Yesterday, the Jewish community showed up loud and proud at the Winnipeg Pride Parade! 🏳️‍🌈

We marched together. We celebrated together. And our float proudly rolled through the streets of Winnipeg as a visible reminder that 2SLGBTQIA+ Jews are valued, welcomed, and celebrated members of our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the Jewish community float, marched alongside us, cheered from the sidelines, and helped make the day so special. Your presence sent a powerful message about the kind of community we are building.

We are proud to stand with our 2SLGBTQIA+ community during Pride Month and all year round.
