Our Beat The Heat Week is fast approaching!!!

We have partnered with the Winnipeg Humane Society One Health team and they are visiting our outreach office on Dufferin next week from March 2 to March 5! Our goal is to neuter as many male cats as we can possibly fit in!

Cost is just $20 for your male cat's neuter/ tattoo/ city license/ vaccines and deworming!!! This low price is made possible thanks to grant funding from City of Winnipeg pet licensing and Winnipeg Animal Services! Cats must be at least 3 months old for this event and be pet cats who can stay indoors. (It is not safe to neuter outdoor or community cats right now due to the cold weather.)

For this event, we have specific target areas we aim to help. North End/ Central/ Weston/ West End and Elmwood residents! We want to neuter your cats!

For more information about this event and to discuss how to qualify etc, please call Jessica at 204-914-3287. You will need to leave a message and your call will be returned in the order it was received. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated!!

Please be aware, due to limited resources, I do need to ask a couple questions about your household and you'll need to send in some very basic info to qualify. It's easy, trust me!!!

Also, please note- we had limited female cat spay appointments for this event but most have already been booked. We do have a few spots left for females but they will be used for female cats who live with male cats. If you have a female cat that needs to be spayed but does not live with males and she stays inside, please save our number and call us after March 9, thanks!

Thanks to my mini post last week and those who called, 108 cats have already been booked in! Most for our Dufferin office event week but some have also been scheduled with our satellite clinic partners during our regularly scheduled programming. (Yes, we spay/neuter cats at various locations throughout the city every weekday all year long. Don't wait for social media posts to reach out for help, call anytime!)

Hey all! We've had quite a few phone messages recently with no return phone number left in the message, meaning I cannot return your call. Please make sure to leave your name and phone number in your message so I can help you!!!!

Just another reminder- our program is funded for spay/neuter for cats and dogs within City of Wpg limits only! If you live outside the city, we unfortunately do not have funding to help, sorry! Also, if you only want/need your pet vaccinated or have other veterinary services performed not related to spay/neuter, we unfortunately do not have funding to help, sorry! We are specifically funded for subsidized cost spay/neuter for those in need! $20 for cats and $45 for dogs

Finally- if you do live in the City of Wpg and need help getting your cat or dog spayed/neutered, give our office a call at 204-914-3287. Do not wait for announcements on social media about openings, I only do that for about 10% or less of the time for any openings we may have. I am continually booking in animals and we are spaying/neutering almost every day of the week thanks to our clinic partners and funding.

We actually have an event coming up for male cats only (and many other regularly scheduled appointments for female cats and dogs of both genders) but will not be sharing specific details about the event as it will fill up with just our regular public demand.

Want more information? Call 204-914-3287, leave a brief message with your name/phone number and reason for calling. Your phone call will be returned in the order it was received. This is a 1 person, 1 phone line office so your patience is appreciated. Once we connect, we'll have a quick conversation so I can learn exactly how to help and you'll then have to send in some very basic information to qualify and get booked in. It's that simple.

I know phone conversations are not fun for some in a world of texting and emails only and screens screens screens but trust me, this is the easiest most effective way for me to help you, your pet and our community. If you absolutely cannot make a phone call, the WHS SNAP program is able to make appointments by email only. You can inquire with them by emailing [email protected].

Heads up folks! For those scheduled at our cat neuter event today at our Dufferin office- this event has been sadly canceled due to unsafe travel conditions for our vet staff who live out of town. We are so sorry but safety first for our team, we appreciate your understanding! Please check your emails for further information, or call us at 204-914-3287. For clients booked at our satellite clinic partners today, these appointments are still scheduled but please check directly with the clinic you are scheduled if you have any questions or are running late for your drop off time. Thanks all, stay safe out there!

Sorry folks- I cannot handle any more inquiries this week! Our phone has been overwhelmed. Please give us a call after Dec 15 for any further inquiries about our spay/neuter program. Thanks!

We have openings for $20 cat spay/neuter and $45 dog spay/neuter! This program is funded specifically for residents of the City of Winnipeg in need only! You will have to answer a couple questions and send in some basic information in order to qualify, thank you for your understanding.

Call Jessica at 204-914-3287 (Monday-Thursday only, you will need to leave a message and your phone call will be returned in the order it was received. Your patience is appreciated, please do not call multiple times, it ties up the phone line and slows down the process for everybody. Please do not text.)

Cats must be 4 months to 6 years of age, dogs must be 6 months to 6 years of age and under 90lbs. Female dogs must not be in a heat cycle in order to be scheduled in.

Heads up- we are always spaying/neutering cats and dogs for Winnipeg residents in need, I just don't always have time to post on social media. If you have any questions about our availability or how to qualify etc, just call our office!
