MISSION STATEMENT-
We facilitate mobility by creating equal access to recycled prosthetics and mobility aids, then donate them to redeveloping countries in critical need. HISTORY-
On October 2, 2008, Iahnijah Opaleke (co- founder) was born with a rare deficiency called PFFD - Proximal Femoral Focal Defi
ciency, now renamed CFD - Congenital Femoral Deficiency. This deficiency causes Iahnijah to wear a step-in prosthesis on his right leg. He is a below knee amputee. As of 2015, he has accumulated over 7 prostheses and various mobility aids. His mother desired to recycle/donate these very gently used limbs (as he gets a new leg every 6-9 months), but could not find a Canadian resource to do so. So, Iahnijah and Tina Opaleke created the resource, and filled that void with PFFD Inc.. Through Iahnijah's birth and the birth of this charity, we hope to raise awareness about prosthetics, mobility, recycling, and global change. In time we hope to facilitate all individuals in developing countries, living with physical disabilities and mobility issues. The gift of mobility comes wrapped with independence, and a renewed sense of dignity. VISION STATEMENT-
At PFFD Inc. our purpose is for all people to have complete mobility despite of geographical location. We aim to provide equal access to opportunities that contribute to ones well-being, and the betterment of the CommUNITY.We are Soulfully rooted in the belief that we are all 'One People'.
