United Steelworkers Local 8740 members are on strike fighting for higher wages at Gerdau AmeriSteel Manitoba Metals recycling plant in Selkirk.

🚨 New Signatory Partner Alert 🚨

We are proud to welcome the Lorette Community Complex as a signatory partner of OE987.

Located on Dawson Road in Lorette, Manitoba, the Lorette Community Complex is a multi-purpose recreation and social facility that has served the residents of the RM of Taché since 1964. The facility is owned, operated, and managed by the RM of Taché and plays an important role in supporting community programs, events, and recreational activities.

We are pleased to welcome the employees of the Lorette Community Complex to OE987 and look forward to representing them for many years to come!

🥳Congratulations to Alyssa Newitt, recipient of the 2026 IUOE Canadian Conference Bursary!

👉The Canadian Conference Bursary supports the dependents of IUOE Canadian members who are pursuing post-secondary education.

🧑‍🎓Alyssa is currently completing a General Science degree, majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. She plans to apply to the University of Waterloo, as well as schools in the United States, to pursue a Doctor of Optometry.

👉The Canadian Conference Bursary is open to all IUOE Canadian members’ dependents who are attending post-secondary education.

🧑‍🎓 Ipsh*ta is currently completing the prerequisites for the Bachelor of Nursing program at the University of Manitoba as she works toward her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse.
