👩‍🎓👨‍🎓The 2026 IUOE Canadian Conference Bursary is now accepting applications! 😃

The bursary is offered to IUOE members' dependents who are entering their first year or subsequent of a full-time course of study (at least 2 years in length) leading to a diploma, certificate, or degree from any recognized public Canadian college or university.

💰Each bursary will be payable at the commencement of the first or subsequent term of the student’s year of at least a 2 year program. Successful recipients will receive $1,000.

Today at the CLC Convention, OE987 Business Manager, Marc Lafond participated as a panelist in the “We Build the Future” discussion on Canada’s building trades. 🏗️

👷The conversation focused on supporting workers, strengthening apprenticeship pathways, growing unionized construction, and building a more inclusive future for the trades.

✊He was joined by Robert Duarte, Business Manager of Ironworkers Local 728 (Manitoba), and Nicole Boreland, Instructor/Labourer with 506 Training Centre/EllisDon Corp. (Ontario).

Operating Engineers Training Institute of Manitoba in the news! 🗞️

Our instructor Derek was featured in the Winnipeg Free Press teaching a young girl how to operate a small digger at a trades event hosted by Manitoba Women in Construction, in partnership with the Winnipeg Construction Association and Women and Gender Equity Manitoba.

This annual one-day event gives girls hands-on experience exploring careers in construction—and this year, more than 90 girls took part! 👷‍♀️🏗
