We’re Looking for Youth Ambassador Mentors!

The UCC Youth Ambassadors Program is looking for mentors who are passionate about supporting the next generation of Ukrainian Canadian leaders.

We’re currently seeking mentors with experience in:

• Politics, public policy & government
• Law, human rights & advocacy
• Arts, culture, heritage & museums
• Ukrainian Canadian history, immigration & community storytelling
• Community leadership, engagement & organizing
• Environmental issues & sustainability
• Communications, media, photography & social media
• Mental health, psychology & community wellness
• Research, rehabilitation & academia
• Technology, entrepreneurship, fintech & data
• Finance & financial literacy
• Sports & recreation
• Project management, fundraising & nonprofit leadership

Mentors commit to approximately one virtual meeting per month and help Youth Ambassadors develop their ideas, navigate challenges, and build connections.

Today, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress joins Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine across Canada and around the world in marking 35 years of the renewal of Ukraine’s independence.

One thousand, six hundred and forty three days ago, Russia launched a full-scale, genocidal invasion of Ukraine.

Russia seeks to destroy Ukraine’s independence.

But having won their independence, the Ukrainian people will never surrender it. Today we honour the Heroes who have given their lives for Ukraine’s independence.

We pay tribute to the Ukrainian Armed Forces – who fight for Ukraine’s freedom and will fight until the Ukrainian people are victorious.

Every day and every night, Russian ballistic missiles bomb Ukrainian civilians. We ask Canada and allies to give Ukraine the interceptors to take out Russian ballistic missiles and the long-range weapons to hit the Russian factories that produce them.

We are grateful to Canada and all allies who today support Ukraine’s freedom and independence.

We ask Ukraine’s allies to help Ukraine Win.

35 years of independence is a celebration shared by Ukrainians everywhere — because Ukraine’s story does not end at its borders. It lives wherever Ukrainians gather, remember, celebrate and continue to build a future connected to their homeland.

The Ukrainian diaspora has also stood beside Ukraine in moments of need. Through advocacy, humanitarian aid, cultural diplomacy and community action, Ukrainians abroad have used their voices and resources to support a free and independent Ukraine.

35 years. 35 reasons to celebrate Ukraine.💙 💛
