In the last week of August 2022, two families met in the NICU at St. Boniface Hospital after each welcomed a baby boy into the world. What began as a chance meeting during a challenging time quickly grew into a meaningful friendship built on shared experiences, understanding, and support.

Over the past four years, they've stayed connected, often meeting at our Ronald McDonald Family Room in HSC Children's Hospital. For these families, the Family Room is more than just a place to rest and recharge. It's become a place where friendships are strengthened, milestones are celebrated, and families find comfort in knowing they aren't alone.

At Ronald McDonald House Manitoba, we're proud to create spaces that help families stay close to the care they need and to one another. Sometimes, the support families find extends far beyond their hospital stay. ❤️

Step inside Ronald McDonald House Manitoba 🏠

For families caring for their sick or injured child, having space to pause, rest, and be together is an important part of well-being. At Ronald McDonald House Manitoba, families have access to a wide variety of mental, emotional and physical supports throughout their stay, including the opportunity to connect with a Knowledge Keeper and use the smudging room, as well as a Sensory Room and Magic Room to play, unwind, play and find joy.

These spaces and supports create moments of comfort and connection for families, helping them maintain family routines where possible and focus on being close to one another throughout their child’s medical journey.
