What a beautiful (and hot!) day to show up for our community!

Today, we had the honour of tabling at the World Refugee Day 2026 Celebration in Central Park, Winnipeg hosted by MANSO MANSO alongside 20+ settlement and community organizations as part of the national We're Better Together campaign.

The park was full of life! Cultural performances, community feasts, kids' activities, and so many meaningful conversations. It was truly a privilege to be among so many incredible partner organizations

On this World Refugee Day, we are reminded: the stories, strength, and resilience of refugees make ALL of us stronger. 🇨🇦🌍☮️

In our English language class we are moving even further each week, as we are quick to master the essential concepts. Next up is mastering the core programs such as excel, word and powerpoint. Continue comming to classes and inputing knowledge and our goals will be reached in no time at all. Many thanks to the Ground Up Projects for supporting our program.

A great start to the spring season this year as we kick off by gathering and creating art. In the spirit of new weather and growth, new beginnings were represented by acrylic paintings of flowers. Sun flowers that ease into the coming golden summer rays and prairie crocus flowers that remind of new life after the long winter. It was wonderful to witness skilled artists take initiative to instruct those an experiencing an empty canvas for the first time. Thank you to the volunteers that made this day happen! Thank you to the ground up projects for supporting these types of community gatherings.

Today we honour the moms who continue to show up with love and strength, even in the face of hardship. The mothers who wear every hat without ever being given the credentials, yet carrying the full weight of the work.

To the newcomer moms and refugee moms building new lives while raising their families with courage and hope: you are seen.
To every mother holding it all together: may your work be acknowledged not just today, but every day.

We appreciate you. We celebrate you. We stand with you.

Happy International Women’s Day

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women all over the world.

This year’s theme, “Give To Gain,” reminds us that when women support one another, share opportunities, and uplift each other’s voices, we all move forward together.

Today is also a reminder of the importance of equality, inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity for all women and girls. When women rise, communities grow stronger, leadership becomes more diverse, and the future becomes more just.

To every woman who brings her story, culture, leadership, and dreams into this space you belong here. Your voice matters. Your presence strengthens our community.

Together, we rise by supporting one another, celebrating our diversity, advocating for equity and equal opportunity, and creating pathways for the next generation of women and girls.

Let’s continue to lift each other up, open doors, and build a world where every woman has the power, respect, and opportunity she deserves.

Happy International Women’s Day to all women. ✨
