# Honouring Truth and Reconciliation

Today, Manitoba Women for Women of South Sudan joins communities across Canada in honouring the Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities, and remembering the children who never returned home.

We honour the voices and lived experiences of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples and acknowledge the lasting impacts of residential schools and colonial policies.

As South Sudanese women living in Manitoba, we believe deeply in the importance of community, family, culture, dignity, and the right of every child to grow up safe, loved, and connected to their identity and community.

Today, we stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples and commit ourselves to continuing to learn about the history of this land, listening with humility, and supporting the ongoing work of reconciliation.

** Every story matters. Every community deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to heal.**

May we honour truth not only today, but through our actions every day.
