Take a breath.

Notice where you are.
Notice what you’re feeling.
You don’t have to figure out where you belong right now.
You don’t have to solve it today.

For this moment, you’re allowed to just be.

Belonging doesn’t always happen all at once.

Sometimes it builds slowly.

Through small moments.

Through familiar faces.

Through spaces where you feel a little safer showing up as yourself.

If belonging still feels unfamiliar, that doesn’t mean it’s out of reach.

It can begin quietly.

One step.

One conversation.

One moment of feeling understood.

Belonging can start with one small step. You don’t have to know exactly what to say. You don’t have to share everything....

Belonging can start with one small step.

You don’t have to know exactly what to say.
You don’t have to share everything.
You don’t have to arrive feeling “ready.”

Our Peer Support groups offer space to listen, connect, and be around others who understand.

Join us this week in Winnipeg or virtually. If you live in the Prairie Mountain Health Region, check out the separate post (next to this one!) that highlights the peer support groups in Brandon and the surrounding areas.

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day.

A day to recognize and honour the cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Connection to culture, community, and identity plays an important role in well-being and belonging.

Today is an opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect — and to acknowledge the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels respected and valued.

What if filling your cup looked like choosing where you don’t go?

Not every space is meant for you.

Not every environment will feel right.

And that’s okay.

Protecting your energy can also mean choosing spaces where you feel more like yourself.

Feeling like you don’t belong can be heavy.

It can make you question yourself.
Shrink your voice.
Second-guess your place.

But not feeling like you belong doesn’t mean you don’t.

Sometimes it just means you haven’t found the right space yet.
