What began as a personal health journey has become a powerful community movement, raising more than $112,000 to support people experiencing homelessness and poverty. ❤️

For 12 years, longtime Siloam Mission supporter Junel Malapad has brought Winnipeggers together through Changing Boxing Day to Running Day. With every kilometre, every donation and every person who joins the run, Junel’s idea continues to grow—and so does its impact.

His journey is a powerful reminder of what community-led fundraising can accomplish. Whether it’s a run, a celebration, a workplace challenge or a creative idea of your own, something that matters to you can help bring hope and support to our neighbours who need it most.

One idea. One action. A lasting difference!

A big thank you to Red River Co-op St. Vital for continuing to support the Siloam community!

This summer, they donated urgently needed hygiene products for people accessing our services. Our shelves were empty before we received this donation, so their support came at just the right time. These everyday essentials are especially needed during this season, helping to provide comfort, care and dignity to people in our community.

Our Summer of Hope campaign is still on, and you can help support people experiencing poverty and homelessness. Learn more or donate at www.siloam.ca/summer-of-hope.

Thank you, Red River Co-op St. Vital! We are so grateful for your continued support. ❤️

Turn Your Event into Impact!

We are so grateful to be part of a community where people find meaningful ways to give back. Each year, supporters reach out with ideas for fundraising events and passion projects, asking how they can turn their passions, celebrations, and communities into support for Siloam Mission.

Whether it's a milestone celebration, workplace initiative, community event, or donation drive, these efforts bring people together and help provide meals, shelter, health care, and other essential supports for neighbours experiencing homelessness and poverty.

To help bring these ideas to life, we provide supporters with an Event Brand Kit to help share their connection with Siloam Mission, along with guidance and support as they plan their fundraiser or event.

If you've been thinking about hosting an event or fundraiser, we'd love to hear from you. Our team is here to help you get started.

To mark International Overdose Awareness Day, Siloam Mission’s Community Wellness team came together with community members to remember the lives lost to overdose.

The team collected stones from Stonewall, which were painted by community members at Madison, Roblin, and Nest — three of Siloam’s supportive housing locations. Then, together, we walked from Siloam Mission to Gone Too Soon Memorial Park, where they laid the stones in memory of those who are gone too soon. Louise, a community drummer also generously gave her time and shared four beautiful songs throughout the ceremony.

Every stone was painted with love and laid in remembrance. ❤️

Overdose affects many people in our community. By talking openly, reducing stigma and learning how to respond — including carrying naloxone and calling 911 — we can help save lives. Let’s continue choosing compassion, care and understanding because every life matters. ❤️

Today, we’re celebrating an exciting new community partnership! ❤️

We’re grateful to have been selected as UNIQLO’s community partner as they prepare to open their new store at St. Vital Centre on August 21.

Recently, members of our Community Wellness team, staff and volunteers joined UNIQLO for a community meet and greet, connecting with Winnipeggers and sharing more about Siloam Mission’s programs and the work happening every day to support people experiencing homelessness and poverty in our city.

Partnerships like this help strengthen connections and bring our community together. Thank you Uniqlo Canada for welcoming Siloam Mission and for choosing to make a difference right here in Winnipeg. ❤️

You can be part of that difference too. Support our Summer of Hope campaign and help provide meals, care and essential supports to people who need them most. Donate at www.siloam.ca/summer-of-hope

If you missed the premiere, you can still watch The Mission on CBC Gem and share it with your friends and family. ❤️

The documentary offers a powerful glimpse into life at Siloam Mission, bringing forward personal stories and perspectives that highlight the realities of homelessness, the challenges people face, and the strength and hope found within our community.

We hope The Mission inspires compassion, conversation and a deeper understanding of homelessness in Winnipeg.
