This Thankful Thursday, we're sending a big thank you to the Quark Group! ❤️

We loved having your team join us in the clothing room.

Every item sorted, folded, and organized helps ensure that when someone needs clothing, they're able to find what they need with dignity and ease. It's work that happens behind the scenes, but it makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you for showing up with such generosity and care. We're grateful for your support and for the difference you're making in our community. ❤️

Years ago, Walter Chomichuk read a story he never forgot.

It was about a man experiencing homelessness who found an empty refrigerator box, dragged it under the Disraeli Bridge, and turned it into shelter from the wind and rain. As Walter recalls, the man instantly became "the king of the homeless under the bridge" because everyone else was sleeping under wet blankets.

That story changed the way Walter thought about homelessness. It also inspired him to take action.

Over the years, Walter became a dedicated supporter of Siloam Mission. More recently, he donated a duplex that now provides a safe, stable home for two families in Winnipeg.

Summer temperatures are rising, and so is the need for bottled water at Siloam Mission.

Every day, we serve more than 1,500 meals and provide support to people in our community. On hot days when temperatures approach 30°C, we distribute more than 400 bottles of water to help people stay hydrated.

For many people experiencing homelessness, much of the day is spent outdoors, walking from place to place and seeking relief from the heat. A cold bottle of water may seem simple, but on a hot summer day, it can provide much-needed comfort and refreshment.

A case of 24 bottles costs just $4. If you'd like to help, donations of bottled water can be dropped off at 300 Princess St. (Henry Ave. entrance), Monday to Saturday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Thank you for helping us care for our community this summer. ❤️

Join us in wishing Marilou a very happy birthday! ❤️🎂

For the past 14 years, Marilou has led Siloam’s kitchen with dedication, creativity, and compassion. Every day, she helps ensure that approximately 1,500 nutritious meals are served to people in our community experiencing poverty and homelessness.

"My wish is that we can continue reaching more people with nutritious meals, compassion, and hope. A meal may seem simple, but it can be the first step toward helping someone believe that better days are possible." ❤️

As we celebrate Marilou today, you can help make her birthday wish come true. Every $4.33 you give provides a hot, nutritious meal and other vital supports for someone in need.

A warm cup of coffee can do more than start the day. It can spark a conversation, build connections, and remind someone they are seen and valued.

Today, we’re sending a big thank you to Canteen Canada for dropping off coffee and drinks for our community.

Coffee is a favourite at Siloam Mission and often becomes a simple but meaningful way for people to connect with one another. Alongside that, refreshing drinks are helping community members stay cool and hydrated as temperatures rise.

Thank you, Canteen of Canada, for bringing comfort and care to our community and helping create meaningful moments of connection. Your generosity makes a real difference. ❤️
