Winnipeg Public Libraries have switched to summer hours from now to Labour Day!

The Transcona Library's summer hours are:

Monday: 10am – 8pm
Tuesday: 10am – 8pm
Wednesday: 10am – 5pm
Thursday: 10am – 8pm
Friday:10am – 5pm
Saturday: 1pm – 5pm
Sunday: closed

All Aboard! Discover CN 2747, Transcona’s historic steam locomotive. Step into the enclosure for a closer look, with museum staff and volunteers available to share insights on its history and preservation. Whether you’re a train lover or just looking for a fun outing, visiting CN 2747 is sure to be an enjoyable experience for everyone!

Visitors can access the locomotive’s cab by a single staircase. Visitors cannot walk or climb onto other sections of CN 2747 or the enclosure structure.

Are you looking for a way to leave your mark on Transcona?

If so, our Buy-a-Paver Program is meant for you. We are offering the opportunity to purchase and engrave an 8″x 8″ paving stone and have it placed in the ground at the Transcona Centennial Square. All pavers will be laid around the New Flyer Peace Fountain to be enjoyed for many years to come. Each paver is only $250.00 and that includes the paver, the cost of engraving, and placement at the Square. All purchases qualify for a tax receipt from the City of Winnipeg.

Paver orders will be sent out for engravement once the minimum order quantity is reached. Any additional pavers ordered after that will be included in the following year’s order. Pavers will then be engraved and installed in mid-September once the New Flyer Peace Fountain has been turned off for the season.

The Transcona Trail Trekkers is always looking for new members to join them on the trail. They meet every Wednesday at 6:15PM, and Sunday at 9:15AM on the Transcona Trail between Costco and Tim's.
