Join us at Explore Indigenous at The Forks for a Métis-led Beading Circle hosted by Melanie Gamache of Borealis Beading. Bring in your current beading project, big or small, and spend time creating, connecting, and beading in a welcoming community space.

Event cost is $5.00 and all proceeds will be donated to Black Bear Rescue Manitoba; registration is required as spots are limited. Beaders will be provided with complimentary tea and bannock.

As the season shifts and the cold sets in, join us for a hands-on, restorative afternoon dedicated to crafting your own botanical remedies for winter self-care! In this cozy, interactive workshop, you’ll blend and take home three custom herbal creations:

🌿 Horsetail & Rosemary Hair Spray: A mineral-rich, stimulating spray designed to strengthen strands, boost shine, and nourish your scalp through dry winter months.
🍵 Warming Winter Tea Blend: Learn to blend soothing, immune-supportive herbs for a rich, soul-warming brew perfect for chilly evenings.
🦶 Restorative Botanical Foot Soak: Combine Epsom salts, calming herbs, and aromatic essential oils to revive tired, cold feet and ease tension.

📹 A snapshot of today's Métis Arts & Culture Day hosted by Melanie | Métis Beadwork - Perlage Experience - Manitoba and Moon Gate Guest House!

The event featured a variety of authentic Red River Métis activities including a hide tanning demonstration with 🌙 Mossy Birch Homestead, a Red River Cart storytelling and mini cart rides with Jerome Loreworks, and Fur Trade storytelling with music throughout the day by Bon'homme Beaudry!

🍕Moon Gate's famous wood-fired pizza made by Chef Michel Dupas was on the menu at lunch, and of course the event wouldn't have been complete without a signature beading experience with Melanie Gamache of Borealis Beading!
