Forget-Me-Not Pancreatic Cancer Network

Forget-Me-Not Pancreatic Cancer Network In March 2010 Loren Dyck was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The doctors figured he had months. Less than 1% of all funding goes towards pancreatic cancer.

Shortly after hearing the diagnosis, my sister in law signed up for Cancer Care Manitoba’s Walk for the Cure and we ended up forming a group called Motley Cure raising $16,000. During our planning and fundraising for the walk, we realized that there was not a whole lot being done in the way of research or raising awareness for pancreatic cancer, even though it is responsible for 5% of all cancer d

eaths. We had to do more. Forget-Me-Not Pancreatic Cancer Network was formed June 10, 2010, the day my dad passed away from this terrible disease, 14 weeks after being diagnosed. We hope to raise awareness, and funding for research, specifically in early detection and treatment. Generally this cancer can take up to 20 years to present itself with noticeable symptoms and by then the outlook is bleak at best. Loren Dyck –Donate your coffee day is in memory of my dad and his love of coffee, please be a purple hero and support our cause.
