steps is a progressive leader in providing services that support successful transitions to employment. We provide information that can be trusted.

Steps2work is a non-profit Employment Training Centre focused on assisting people with disabilities, primarily psychiatric disability as well as those with other disabilities who have a mental health issue, to secure and maintain employment. Our Mission

Happy Fri-YAY!

This morning at 10:00am today we have Resume Tips, where we will take a look at the Top 10 things to include in resumes to make a memorable introduction to employers. The handout for this workshop works well as a resume cheat sheet, to help participants ensure that their resumes cover the most important and effective points of information.

Our office will be closed Monday, June 22 in Lieu of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Good morning,

This morning at 10:00am, we have Top 10: Time Management, where we’ll take a look at ways to use time to our best advantage. Building helpful habits and scheduling our days mindfully empowers us to grow, fulfill our responsibilities, and reach our goals.

This afternoon at 1:30pm is Coffee Club, our weekly peer support and social skill-building workshop. Today is participant choice of games, puzzles, and activities that we have on hand and we will decide together what we want to do at workshop start.

Good morning,

Today at 10:00am, we have our Top 10: Interview Questions & Answers, which helps participants proactively prepare answers to the most common interview questions. It is said that luck happens where preparation and opportunities meet: so proactively taking steps to be properly prepared is key when job searching and career planning.

This afternoon at 1:00pm, we will be celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day with delicious Bannock Tacos and a variety of fun activities. We look forward to celebrating together and honoring Indigenous cultures, traditions, and contributions.

Tuesdays at 10:00am, we have Mindful Movement with Caryn leading participants through a routine of gentle yet effective stretching, breath work, meditation and mindfulness. This approach regulates the nervous system, while exercising the body and soothing the person.

Good morning,

First up at 10:00am, today we have Top 10: Confidence, where we'll take a look at quick and accessible ways to boost confidence. These tips are great for temporarily boosting confidence before important things (like job interviews!), and when practiced regularly, they increase confidence in general.

This afternoon at 1:30pm, we have our Personal Hygiene in the Workplace workshop. We will go over the reasons why this is such an important part of employment skills, now more than ever! Proper personal hygiene accomplishes many things: from helping to prevent the spread of illness and infections, to encouraging habits that create and maintain clean and healthy spaces.

This morning at 10:00am we have our First Impressions workshop, with our Top 10 Tips for presenting your best self when meeting new people. These tips are especially important when meeting employers at interviews, and can make or break these valuable opportunities.

First up today at 10:00am we have Top 10: Indeed, where participants will learn how to use this popular job search website to effectively support their search for work and career goal development. We’ll review Indeed which covers the basics and some important features that boost job seeking efforts.

Next up at 1:30pm, we have Stress Management where we’ll take a look at types and causes of stress, then review 8 Tips for increasing calm and happiness, as well as some 2 Minute Stress Busters.
