‼️Parents of 16U & Younger Athletes‼️

A reminder that Volleyball Manitoba’s Early Signing period does NOT apply to athletes in 16U and younger age categories.

If your athlete receives an “offer,” “spot,” “commitment,” or invitation to join a team, please understand that it means absolutely nothing under Volleyball Manitoba’s Early Signing process. These offers are not valid and should not be acted on.

Clubs may share general, public information such as tryout dates, registration details, expressions of interest, and club information. However, no 16U or younger athlete can be officially offered a spot or formally committed through Early Signing.

Families are encouraged to wait for the appropriate tryout process so athletes can make an informed decision about the club and team that is the best fit.

Thank you for helping support a fair and athlete-focused recruiting environment across Manitoba.

As the fall season approaches, Volleyball Manitoba’s Community Youth Volleyball programs will be starting again soon, and with that comes a lot of questions from parents and young athletes across the province.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥.

It is a grassroots initiative focused on providing age-appropriate playing and training opportunities. The program is designed to help young athletes learn, grow, and develop skills that will support them throughout their athletic journey. Most importantly, we want to make sure that every athlete has fun along the way.
We understand that every young athlete comes to volleyball with a different level of experience.

Whether someone is brand new to volleyball or has played before, we welcome everyone to come out and join our beginner-friendly programs.

We want to make sure you and your young athlete understand what Community Youth Volleyball is all about before registering.

As 17U and 18U athletes and families begin attending open gyms and exploring their club options, Volleyball Manitoba encourages you to take the time to understand the club you are considering before making a commitment.

Early signing is an exciting opportunity, but choosing a club is an important decision. Before you sign, make sure you understand the club’s expectations, policies, procedures, costs, coaching structure, communication practices, travel commitments, and overall approach to athlete development.

As of this season, all Volleyball Manitoba-approved clubs are required to have specific policies and procedures in place and make them available to their members. Families should review these policies before committing to a club and ask the club any questions they may have.

We also encourage athletes and families to review our 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 resource, which provides helpful questions and considerations when selecting a volleyball club.

𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: You are not just choosing a team—you are choosing an organization that will be part of your athlete’s volleyball experience.

Take the time to ask questions, understand the commitment, and make sure the club’s policies, values and expectations align with what you and your athlete are looking for.
