First launched in 2014, ArchiShorts is entering its 8 year as part of Winnipeg's annual Architectur

e + Design Film Festival, now in it's 12th year (depending how we count them). This year, a selection of winning Archi-Shorts films will be screened live on April 29, 2023 at Winnipeg Cinematheque at a free screening and award ceremony. Local winners will receive modest prizes in person, and international participants will receive prizes and award certificates by mail. The contest began as a local and regional contest, but has increasing grown with submissions received from emerging filmmakers, artists and architects from all around the world. The Architecture + Design Film Festival is an initiative of the Winnipeg Architecture Foundation, in collaboration with Urban Idea and Winnipeg Film Group with many individual and organizational sponsors. Push takes the audience from city to city to demonstrate how ‘global capital buys cities only to empty them.’
