Last week we honoured two incredible members of the Dryden Thrift Store team. Pictured are Area Commander David Hipperson, Evelyn Olsen, Community Ministries Director Stuart Walter and Shannon Hatfield. We are beyond grateful to Evelyn and Shannon for their years of dedication to the community. While today marks the final day for the Dryden Thrift Store, we look forward to continuing to work with community partners to serve Northwestern Ontario. Thank you to the Dryden community for your donations and support over the years.

Delicia Carvery used to work in the corporate world, but after a restructure she found herself looking for an organization that aligned with her personal values. When she read the mission statement of The Salvation Army, she was inspired to apply.

Nearly 21 years later, Delicia loves working for The Salvation Army and meeting people where they’re at. Delicia connects donors with the impact of their giving, showing them how The Salvation Army makes a difference.

She is inspired by hearing donors’ stories and brings that joy to every interaction.

“I love sharing that with people⎯being that bright light and giving that hope back to people⎯blessing them before I end every call,” Delicia says.
