"As Commander-in-Chief, and on behalf of all Canadians, I extend my support to the military members, families, and community affected by the fire at CFB Wainwright.

My thoughts are with the loved ones of those who lost their lives, those who were injured, and all those affected by this tragedy.

I would also like to recognize the dedication and courage of the first responders and all those who are working tirelessly in the relief efforts during this difficult time.

Our hearts are with you." - Governor General Arbour

As the Navy League of Canada marked the 25th Anniversary of Navy and Coast Guard Appreciation Day on Parliament Hill, we also took a moment to recognize the devastating fire at CFB Wainwright and the profound impact this unimaginable tragedy has had on its community.

Our thoughts remain with everyone affected, including the families who are grieving, those who have been impacted, and the first responders and medical professionals who continue to provide care and support during this incredibly difficult time.

In the spirit of compassion, community, and service that defines our organization, the Navy League of Canada is launching a special initiative to support those affected by this tragedy.

Funds raised through this initiative will be directed to CFB Wainwright to help support affected families and the broader community as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

In times of unimaginable loss, the strength of a community is reflected in how we come together to support one another. We invite our members, supporters, and Canadians from coast to coast to join us in demonstrating that support.

The Navy League of Canada proudly celebrates the women who have helped shape our history and continue to strengthen our future.

From dedicated volunteers and community leaders to Navy League Cadet Officers, mentors, advocates, and supporters, women have played an invaluable role in creating opportunities for young Canadians to learn, lead, and grow.

Their leadership, commitment, and passion help build confidence in our youth, strengthen our communities, and inspire the next generation to reach their full potential.

This month, we honour their contributions and recognize the many women who continue to make a meaningful difference across our organization and in the lives of the young people we serve.

This Women’s Month, we celebrate their achievements, thank them for their service, and recognize the lasting legacy they are building for generations to come.

Thank you to all the women who make the Navy League of Canada stronger!
