Goals & Objectives
•To be a support group for parents, caregivers and families of children with Down Syndrome.
•To build and maintain a communications network from which members can access current, comprehensive information and the latest developments.
•To enhance public awareness and understanding of Down syndrome.
•To promote, encourage and support research into Down syndrome and related conditions.
•To develop support services and projects which benefit individuals with Down syndrome.
•To provide an opportunity for individuals with Down syndrome to express their views and
concerns and to participate in the direction of the Society.
•To provide forums for the exchange of information and ideas between parents and professionals. The Manitoba Down Syndrome Society is a non-profit organization operated by volunteers

We want to give a huge shout out to Nolan's Crew, who held their own satellite Walk With Us in Holland, MB with support from our Local Champions Fund!

Through collecting donations, selling 50/50 tickets, and hosting a bbq, they raised over $5,000 and helped us reach our goal 🎉👏

💛 Social Club is in full swing — and what a season it's already been!

We are three events in and loving every minute. Watching our participants connect, laugh, and just enjoy being together is everything. 🎉

We are so grateful to the Momentum Grants Program for the funding that has allowed us to increase our program capacity and plan more inclusive excursions this year than ever before. This support makes a real difference for the young adults in our community. 💛

This November 4th, we're gathering at Centro Caboto Centre for a full day of learning, connection, and inspiration centred around this year's theme: Right to Read.

Here's what makes See Me Beautiful truly one of a kind: it's the only professional development opportunity in Manitoba where parents and school teams learn side by side, at the same table.

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

At MDSS, we believe that inclusion means everyone — and that commitment extends to advocating for Indigenous peoples with disabilities in Manitoba, who continue to face systemic barriers to the services and supports they deserve.

Recommendation 10 of the IAS Report calls for the immediate removal of eligibility exclusions for First Nations people living on reserve, and for a co-created provincial disability strategy developed with Indigenous leadership.

We stand behind this call. We encourage you to learn more, read the report, and add your voice to this important conversation.
