The University of Winnipeg Athletics Department invites youth teams, groups, and schools to experience university sport this season. Fans can look forward to a welcoming gym atmosphere as Winnipeg Wesmen cheer on their teams and invite the next generation of athletes to participate.

Groups can sign up for specific games using the provided form, and on game day please visit the admission booth on the second floor to collect your group’s envelope of tickets.

🏀 The schedule is set for the 2026 Basketball Manitoba Super Coaches Clinic! Join us online Friday, October 23, for a full day of learning from basketball’s best.

Hear from Kevin Wilson, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Toronto Tempo, on connecting skill development with performance health; Kirby Schepp, Head Coach of the Manitoba Bisons, on designing practices that teach; Paul Kelleher, an experienced Irish national team coach, on turning defence into offence; Sandy Brondello, Toronto Tempo Head Coach and two-time WNBA champion, in a Q&A on the road to excellence; and Carly Clarke, Toronto Tempo Assistant Coach and former TMU head coach, on lessons from her first year in the WNBA.

Great news for Manitoba basketball! The North American Indigenous Games Council has conditionally awarded the 2028 NAIG to Norway House Cree Nation and the Southern Chiefs’ Organization, with competitions set across Winnipeg and surrounding Manitoba from July 9–23, 2028. For basketball, Manitoba will host teams across 14U, 16U, and 19U divisions, in both male and female categories. This event will bring together Indigenous athletes from Canada and the U.S., offering a platform to showcase talent, connect communities, and celebrate Indigenous cultures. Stay tuned for upcoming details on venues, schedules, eligibility, and volunteer opportunities as planning progresses. Read more:
