After 25 years in the community, ECRC has so much to be thankful for. Each Friday, we will highlight one community partner that makes our day a little easier and life a little brighter for those in our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Kildonan MCC Thrift Shop for the many ways they support our community at Elmwood Community Resource Centre.

Through their partnership, local youth have had opportunities to gain valuable work experience through employment placements, helping them build confidence, develop new skills, and build a strong foundation for the future. During Winnipeg's cold winter months, they have also helped ensure that families have access to warm clothing and winter essentials when they need them most.

Kildonan MCC has also generously donated self-care and hygiene products that support the dignity and well-being of individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. These items may seem small, but they often make a meaningful difference in someone's day and remind people that their community cares.

Together, these contributions help remove barriers, create opportunities, and strengthen the sense of belonging that makes our community so special. We are grateful for Kildonan MCC's generosity, compassion, and commitment to supporting our neighbours.

Thank you for helping us build a stronger, warmer, and more caring community for all. ❤️

"Can CFS help families before things become serious?"

CFS involvement does not automatically mean children will be removed from the home. Many cases focus on safety planning and connecting families to supports.

Our mid-week reminder today: “Trying to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.”

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to shrink ourselves, soften our voices, or change who we are just to fit into spaces that were never meant for us in the first place. We compare our journeys, our bodies, our success, our healing, and forget that there is already something deeply valuable in simply being ourselves.

The world does not need another copy of someone else. It needs your perspective, your story, your kindness, your resilience, your imperfect but authentic self.

We spend so much time chasing who we think we should be that we forget to appreciate who we already are becoming. And sometimes, the greatest form of growth is no longer apologizing for taking up space exactly as you are.

There is power in authenticity. There is peace in self-acceptance. And there is freedom in realizing that you were never meant to become someone else to be worthy.

🌿 Join Us for Our Counselling Groups 🌿

At our counselling groups, we focus on self-care, healing, and connection in ways that go beyond traditional talk therapy.

Last week, participants in our Conflict Resolution Group painted their own self-care boxes as a creative expression of healing and personal wellness. Today, we are filling those boxes with traditional healing medicines, including to***co bundles and sage, to support reflection, grounding, and self-care practices.

We recognize that talk therapy doesn't work for everyone. That's why we incorporate art, culture, wellness activities, and hands-on experiences into our groups. These approaches create opportunities for healing, self-discovery, and connection in ways that honour different learning styles, experiences, and traditions.

Whether you're looking to build coping skills, strengthen relationships, reduce stress, or simply take time for yourself, our groups offer a welcoming and supportive space.

✨ All are welcome.
✨ Come as you are.
✨ Take time for yourself—you deserve it.

Contact us to learn more about our upcoming groups and how to get involved.
