Volunteer Manitoba

Volunteer Manitoba Building Community, Building Capacity To meet those needs, we offer an extensive selection of workshops which we’ve organized into 3 signature series:
1.

Programs & Services

Training Services

We recognize that non-profits and charities sometimes require training that is specific to their needs. Organization Development
2. Volunteer Management
3. Board Development & Leadership

These workshops are held throughout the year, and are delivered in Winnipeg and in rural communities across Manitoba. We also offer Customized Training for individual organ

izations – which could be anything from facilitating a strategic planning session for staff or board, bringing one of our packaged workshops to your organization, or delivering a training session on a unique topic - developed specifically for your organization. Our workshop calendar can be found online at www.volunteermanitoba.ca

Referral Service

We are very pleased to offer our free referral and outreach service, which matches individuals who have an interest in volunteering with agencies who are seeking volunteers. Every week, agencies across Manitoba forward us information about available volunteer opportunities within their organizations, which we then share with the public. These volunteer opportunities are uploaded to our website, where individuals can search by region and category and apply directly through our website. Individuals who are interested in volunteering and would like assistance with their search have the opportunity to book a ½ hour consultation with a staff member to determine their skills sets and interests. We then assist them in finding a position that best matches what they are looking for. Interviews and screening processes are performed by the agencies directly. Through our Community Outreach activities, we are able to connect with Manitobans on the benefits of volunteerism. We attend outreach events throughout Manitoba and also visit with classrooms, community groups and organizations to deliver presentations on community engagement and how to find the right volunteer opportunity.

Think about your favourite hockey or soccer team. Great teams don’t become great because of one player or one training session. They practice, understand their roles, and work together toward a common goal.

Your board is a team, too.

Does your team have all the skills needed to succeed this fall? If not, we have a great fall lineup for all skill levels!

📣 Last Call! 📣

The deadline to complete the Manitoba State of the Non-profit Sector Survey is quickly approaching – the deadline to respond is this Friday, July 31st!

Your organization’s experiences matter. Whether you’re navigating funding pressures, volunteer capacity challenges, workforce changes, or finding new ways to support your community, your insights help tell the story of Manitoba’s vibrant non-profit sector.

Together, we can build a stronger understanding of our sector, including the opportunities, barriers, and supports needed to strengthen community non-profits now and into the future.
