2025 Missions Highlight
A planned visit to the correctional facility in Abeokuta was a huge eye opener for our team to see the difference a leader can make in a prison community.
Instead of the despair and hopelessness expected in most prisons, this superintendent has faced the challenges by bringing hope to the prisoners which he fondly calls ‘students’.
He has allowed them access to online university for those so inclined, and training in wood working, hair dressing, leather working etc to help them prepare for their lives after they leave his facility.
He has taken the time to understand his community and given opportunity to his ‘students’ to make the course correction necessary from the paths that led them to incarceration to one of becoming a citizen in good standing. Wow! we were totally inspired
