St. Norbert Remembrance Day

St. Norbert Remembrance Day Here we honour those men and women who fought and died for our country. People who were part of our community. People who should never be forgotten.

People who gave their lives so that we might live in peace. Celebrate with us and honour those fallen men and women every November 11th. Lest we forget.

Thank you!
To the people who attended yesterday's Remembrance Day service in person or over the live stream.
To the Volunteers who make it happen each and every year in so many different ways.
To the Sponsors who donate both funds and goods so that we can continue to bring this event to life each year.
To the Supporters, who've given in so many different ways.
To the Students from the local schools who lend their musical talents and voices, both spoken and sung, so the attendees can get a fuller understanding of the importance of each Remembrance Day, as well as the students who help support the day in so many other ways.
To the Wreath Layers, who show their respect with each step towards the cenotaph with their wreaths.
To the folks who provide historical information about the soldiers so we've been able to learn more about the names on the cenotaph.
To the Bloomfield Family who started this grassroots effort back in 2008 and have steered it with care since then to ensure those 13 men whose names are etched on the cenotaph are not forgotten and who now have lovingly passed their torch on to the community who will continue the event going forward.
But most of all, thank you to those thirteen brave souls, who gave their very lives for a future and generations of people that they couldn't even imagine.
Thank you!

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Join us on November 11th to honour the fallen soldiers.
